I bought this ipod dock to replace my old one that had half of the speakers not working and not being compatible with my ipod touch 2G. This dock looked promising so i decided to purchase it. I can confirm that this is compatible with the ipod touch 2G. This dock was a little smaller than expected, but does just fine. The sound quality is pretty good, but if you have a bad quality mp3, it will sound even worse on this. The remote control is small, and does what it has to. The biggest disappointment of this product is the FM radio. It’s blind. You scan random stations not even knowing where you are. And if you tap on the dock while in radio mode, it changes stations not knowing where it went. Also I must point out that you can’t tune the radio with the remote control. The best part of the radio is the antenna which is fairly good. Overall this is a good ipod dock. If you want this also for the radio, look for something with an led display.

I got this docking system in 2008 for my birthday and it still works great to this day. The alarm is excellent and the sound quality is very good. I got mine at Big Lots for and after seeing the price of it on here I realized I had quite a steal. I would definitely recommend this. The only complaint I have is that my remote doesn’t always work and I have to take the battery out and in put it back in to get it to work again. It might just be a defect with my remote though.

We picked up this machine so that we could watch DVDs and movies downloaded from itunes while backpacking and we have been thrilled with it!

We love that we can watch DVDs and listen to CDs as well as play media from our ipod (it even works as a digital photo frame!). The SD card reader also allows us to play some .avi movies which has been an unexpected bonus since it’s not altogether clear which file types are supported.

Having read reviews, the volume level exceeded our expectations and, when the ambient noise has been too loud, having 2 headphone jacks has quickly solved the problem.

Also, some reviews have reported that it feels “cheaply made” or “flimsy” but we find it to be sturdy given the price point.

The only downsides we’ve found are:
1) The exposed screen – some might find this to be a problem though it does come with a sleeve which serves to protect it. We did buy an additional DVD player bag for extra protection and to carry the player and accessories and that has worked out well.
2) The battery life isn’t great.
3) It does come with a remote (which cleverly hides away) but the remote doesn’t control the volume or power.

All in all, the ups outweighs the downs…we thought that it was a great find for 0…we’d recommend it!

This thing comes with a unique cable. On one side, you have a 1/8″ jack with 3 segments, rather than 2, and the red/white/yellow RCA jacks on the other side. In theory, this means that the cable can output L/R stereo and composite video off the same cable. It doesn’t work out that way though. I found that using the supplied cable gave me random buzzing, hisses, and other static. When I used a more standard cable though, that all disappeared, and I got wonderful sound. Do yourself a favor and go down to your local Radio Shack or something and buy a 1/8″ to RCA stereo cable and do the same thing. I also had a spare S-video cable lying around, so I didn’t even have to sacrifice the video.
One another note, you’re still not going to find anything nicer for the money, even after buying the extra cable(s). This thing does what it says it does, no more or less. No menu access, but it never said it did that. Play, skip, and control volume. It’s small, with a nice shiny black finish, and has a nifty little remote. And as a bonus, those of you with a harmony remote can use that with it too.
