I recently decided to get rid of my ipod shuffle, and try a nano, and I can’t believe what I was missing! Since budget was a big consideration, I started out with a used 2nd generation 2GB nano – while I loved it, it just didn’t have the room I wanted, so I sold it and bought a used 4gb – WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

For some reason, it more than doubled what I could fit on it – I’m still trying to find music that I want to put on it. I don’t need to carry my entire music collection around with me, just my favorites, and the 4gb nano is perfect for me. It’s so easy to use, and so easy to carry around – we spend a lot of hours together!

This Ipod has exactly the right amount of space for me, and it seems to make everything I do more pleasant, even housecleaning! In fact I find myself looking for things that need doing around the house, and a whole lot more is getting done, just because I enjoy listening so much. The sound quality is great, too!

This is the perfect Ipod for me – maybe one day I’ll upgrade, but I don’t see any reason to, so in the event anything happens to the one I have, I hope used ones will be available for a LONG time!

This was the first ipod screen protector I’ve ever tried to apply, but I have applied quite a few other screen protectors on different electronics, so I have a little experience with them… just not on an ipod (mine is an ipod 3G).

Anyway, this was absolutely the easiest screen protector I have ever applied. I even had to pry it up and reapply it because it was a little off center the first time. But that didnt pose a problem. The package comes with 2 screen protectors, and since it’s so easy to apply, you actually get to use both of them (and not just have 1 for “practice” in case you screw it up). As with any screen protector though, use a little bit of patience, clean your screen before applying, and make sure no lint is on the screen. Took me 20 minutes to rip open the package, read the instructions, clean my ipod, and apply the protector.

I like the way it feels when i glide my finger over it. Very smooth.

Overall, a little pricey, but well worth it because it’s headache-free.

The original dock that came with my shuffle was stepped on, so I needed a replacement. It was hard to believe something this inexpensive would actually work, considering a replacement from Apple is 10x the price, but I decided to give it a try.

What a pleasant surprise. I really like the form factor, having the shuffle connect directly to the USB port instead of the dock and cable. And it’s been absolutely reliable since I’ve started using it.

If you find yourself with a broken shuffle dock, I recommend this as an inexpensive replacement.

Finding a good case for the iPod mini is different than finding a good one for an expensive mobile phone. For one, usage is different. For instance, there’s no reason to expect that you’ll be putting your iPod up to your face (unless you love it so much that you coddle it affectionately).
The mini is my first “real” MP3 player. At the time of this writing, I’ve had it for 3 months. Originally, I took the philosophy that the type of case I bought for my mobile phone would also work for my mini. So, the idea was to allow certain parts (i.e. the wheel) to be exposed so that I could access them easily. I found that this is a problem–it’s better to protect the wheel, screen and other parts of the player while its not in use so that they don’t get dirty, scratched and gross. The mini has a great design and can be looked at as a beautiful, industrial work of art. I certainly don’t want to ruin it. So, after a few instances of cleaning the wheel and a couple of cruddy scratches I decided to look for a new case, and this is the case I found. It’s really, truly great.

Everything is fully protected except for the hold switch and headphone plugs. The flipstand is pretty cool. You can sit at your desk and listen to music and can glace at the iPod screen without having to move your head to much (that’s laziness). When the flipstand is down the wheel is exposed, letting you switch between songs and hit play/pause pretty easily. Navigating the menu is a little awkward unless you pick the mini up (which is sort of expected anyway).

I give this case 5 stars but there’s one thing that might some individuals to give it 4. When the flipstand is closed and covers the wheel it also covers the sync cable outlet. Therefore, you can’t sync (or charge) and leave the wheel unexposed. When the flipstand is down the sync cable fits in fine, but the case doesn’t function–the unit won’t stand and you end up having to lay the iPod down. Plus the flipstand gets in the way and the iPod ends up laying down in a funny way. All of a sudden something that used to be functional seems poorly designed. This isn’t a big deal to me. So it might not be a big deal to you either, but I thought I’d mention it.
